Woman, 61, Arrested After Sunday Night Shooting: Police
Aurora police allege Abigail Arellano shot a 38-year-old man Sunday night after arguing with him in the 2000 block of Charles Lane.

AURORA, IL — A Sandwich woman was arrested Monday and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred late Sunday night on Aurora’s east side, according to police. Abigail Arellano, 61, faces a felony charge of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Aurora police allege Arellano shot a 38-year-old man at 11:50 p.m. Sunday after arguing with him in the 2000 block of Charles Lane. The man required surgery after being shot in the abdomen, but he is expected to survive, according to police.

Aurora Man Injured In Gang-Related Shooting: Police
Arellano was arrested near the location of the shooting, police said. She is being held at the Aurora Police Detention Center before her arraignment in Kane County court.
