Woman Killed By Train Identified By Coroner

An eyewitness reportedly saw the woman, 51, walk onto the tracks at Normantown and Wolf's Crossing while the gate was down.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A 51-year-old Aurora woman is dead after she was struck by a freight train in what appears to have been a suicide, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office. The incident took place Sunday evening at the intersection of Wolf's Crossing and Normantown roads near Naperville's border with Wheatland Township.

The Will County Coroner's office identified the woman as Lisa J. Gullo. Her death is under investigation by the Canadian National police and Will County Sheriff's office, according to the coroner's office.

Kathy Hoffmeyer, spokesperson for Will County Sheriff's Office, told Patch the woman was deceased when officers arrived at the scene around 8 p.m. Hoffmeyer said an eyewitness reported seeing the woman walk onto the tracks while the safety gates were down and the train was coming.
