Alcohol Believed to be a Factor in Fatal Crash Into Middle School
Joseph R. Wasner, 73, of Rolling Meadows has been identified as the man killed in the crash at Barrington Middle School Monday afternoon.

Authorities have identified the man who died Monday after crashing his vehicle into the Barrington Middle School-Station Campus as Joseph R. Wasner, 73, of Rolling Meadows.
Police said Wednesday they believe alcohol was a factor in the fatal crash. Authorities also believe Wasner was involved in a hit and run crash at Route 14 and Eastern Avenue just before he entered the Barrington Middle School parking lot at a high rate of speed and crashed into the building Monday afternoon. An autopsy revealed Wasner died of multiple injuries sustained from a crash.
No students or staff at Barrington Middle School-Station Campus, located at 215 S. Eastern Ave., were injured in the accident, which occurred at 2:22 p.m. on Monday when classes were still in session.
