Enjoy Free Wine, Food at Winter Wine Walk
The first Winter Wine Walk will be held in downtown Barrington on March 3.

A group of Barrington merchants is planning to warm up shoppers from the cold with a glass of wine this weekend.
The first Winter Wine Walk will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. March 3 in downtown Barrington. Free to the public, anyone interested in attending can visit several stores in the Cook and Station streets area for free wine and food tastings.
“We’ve talked for about a year about having a wine walk, and some of the merchants on South Cook Street and Station area embraced that theme,” said Economic and Community Development Director Peg Blanchard.

“I think it’s going to be an exciting event for people to go down from 2 to 6 p.m. and make their reservations for dinner as well,” Blanchard said.

The event is attracting people from neighboring communities such as Lake, Cary and Buffalo Grove.
“We’re bringing a lot of people to visit Barrington as a destination, and I think that’s something we’re really excited about.”
