Free Networking Seminar for Job Seekers
Career Place will host the seminar on Nov. 10.
There’s better than an 80 per cent chance your next job opportunity will come from someone you know, Scott Kane, founder of Gray Hair Management said. So being able to most effectively network friends, acquaintances and strangers is crucial to getting the vital interview, and your next job.
In a free two hour session set for Thursday, Nov. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at CareerPlace™, 600 Hart Rd. Suite 275, Barrington, Kane will help participants better understand how to use networking and related skills, the “Laws of Networking”, to establish and brand themselves, how to best develop and deliver information about themselves in order to get in front of the right person and get hired.
“There’s an 85 percent chance you’ll get the lead on your next job from someone you know,” Kane said, “and more than 70 percent of people hired are known by their future employer. So being prepared to succinctly, memorably and favorably differentiate yourself from other potential candidates, and to quickly stick in the mind of the right person is the best strategy to getting your next job.”
