Gas Leak Forces Polling Place In Lake County To Close

The polling place does not have heat following the gas leak and will not be open for Tuesday's primary.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake Barrington village hall will not serve as a polling location during Tuesday's primary due to an ongoing gas leak that has left the building without heat, the Lake County Clerk's Office announced Monday night.

Voters who were planning to cast their ballots at the Lake Barrington Village Hall are encouraged to use the nearest alternative polling sites:

  • Village of Tower Lakes Village Hall, 400 N. Highway 59, Tower Lakes
  • Cuba Township Highway Department Garage, 28070 W. Cuba Road, Barrington
  • Langendorf Park: 235 Lions Drive, Barrington

“Health and safety are our utmost priorities for our election judges and voters. I thank our partners at Lake Barrington Village Hall for their efforts to find a solution on such short notice, and I also want to thank the Lake County Emergency Management Agency for their assistance,” said Lake County Clerk Anthony Vega.
