JourneyCare’s “An Evening Aglow” Gala Nets $125,000

Gala Raises Funds for Patient Care and Support

To honor the legacies of the three organizations that came together in June 2015 to form JourneyCare, the largest nonprofit provider of palliative, supportive and end-of-life care, the agency doubled the impact of its signature event and hosted two Galas this year.

Dubbed “Country & Town…the 2016 Galas,” one Gala took place in Barrington Hills last June. The second, the Town Gala, was held at Venue One in Chicago on October 8 with the theme “An Evening Aglow” and netted $125,000.

JourneyCare provides customized care and support to nearly 3,000 patients and their families each day across 10 counties throughout the Chicago area and northern Illinois. Support of these Galas ensures that JourneyCare keeps its promise to the community of never turning anyone away because of inability to pay.

Like the Country Gala, the Town Gala honored the vision and legacies of the founders and luminaries of the three legacy agencies, Chicago-based Horizon Hospice and Palliative Care, Barrington-based JourneyCare and Glenview-based Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter.

The evening included a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres, dinner, live, silent and reverse auctions and dancing to the music of the High Society Orchestra.
