Juveniles Hospitalized After Drinking, Overdosing on Xanax: Police
Police were called to an underage party in Tower Lakes early Saturday for a report of a teen that was unconscious.

TOWER LAKES, IL -- Five juveniles were taken to an area hospital after they drank alcohol and overdosed on Xanax early Saturday, police said Sunday.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputies was dispatched to the 200 block of Stonehenge Lane in Tower Lakes for a report of a 16-year-old girl who was not conscious or breathing, according to a Lake County Sheriff's Office press release.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and discovered the victim was breathing. She and several other juveniles had overdosed on Xanax and had consumed alcohol, according to police.

Five juveniles were transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. An additional two juveniles were monitored at home by their parents as they were already home.
All juveniles, who are ages 15 to 17 years old, have since fully recovered, police said.

Authorities said the property owners were aware of the party, which began around 6:30 p.m. However, they told police they were not aware of the consumption of alcohol or prescription drugs by the juveniles.
The Xanax belonged to one of the juveniles at the party who had been prescribed the medication two years ago, according to the news release.
No information was immediately available on whether any tickets have been issued or charges filed in connection with the party.
