Raja Puts Together Winning Team in Illinois

Raja Krishnamoorthi announced today that key Democratic strategists have joined his campaign for Congress in the 8th Congressional District of Illinois that includes the northwest Chicago suburbs.

“This team of advisors has played key roles in electing Democratic candidates in Illinois and across the country, and I am proud they are joining my team,” Krishnamoorthi said. “We will work during the campaign to show how we can provide education and job opportunities, so more families in the northwest Chicago suburbs can achieve the economic security they need.”

AL Media will provide media and strategic advice to Krishnamoorthi. The firm has helped elect two U.S. Presidents, 11 U.S. Senators and 30 Members of Congress. Eric Adelstein is a veteran of three presidential campaigns, and Ann Liston previously worked as a Regional Director of EMILY’s List and in senior positions with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

John Kupper of Kupper Communications will provide media, messaging, policy and issue development advice to Raja and has spent nearly 30 years developing winning messages and press strategies for Democratic candidates and officeholders across the nation. Kupper was on the ground floor of President Barack Obama’s political rise, serving as a message and advertising consultant in both his 2004 U.S. Senate and 2008 Presidential campaigns. Kupper helped edit Obama’s 2004 Democratic Convention keynote speech that rocketed Obama to political stardom, and is acknowledged for his assistance in Obama’s 2007 bestseller, “The Audacity of Hope.”

Krishnamoorthi’s direct mail consultants will be Mission Control, one of the premier Democratic mail firms in the country. Ed Peavy is the founder, managing partner and chief strategist for Mission Control. The firm’s clients have included Democratic U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Al Franken of Minnesota and Sherrod Brown of Ohio, EMILY’s List, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Planned Parenthood and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
