Raja Raises More Than $250,000 in Less Than One Month
Momentum continues in 2nd Quarter for Krishnamoorthi's bid for Congress.
Raja Krishnamoorthi announced today he has raised more than $250,000 for his campaign for Congress in the 8th Congressional District of Illinois that includes the northwest Chicago suburbs.
Raja has raised the amount in less than one month in April during the 2nd fundraising quarter of the year.
He formally filed his paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission on April 9 to run for Congress.

“I am so grateful to the many donors and their incredible generosity,” Krishnamoorthi said. “This support will enable our campaign to deliver our message of helping more Americans find good jobs and economic security in a changing world.”
The impressive fundraising amount collected in less than one month builds on the strong political support that has lined up throughout the Chicago suburbs for Krishnamoorthi.

State Sen. Dan Kotowski and more than 40 leading suburban Democrats have backed Raja’s candidacy to replace Rep. Tammy Duckworth, who is running for the U.S. Senate.
“Raja offers meaningful solutions to protect working families and shares my commitment to help people in our community achieve the American Dream,” said Kotowski, a Democrat whose state legislative district includes parts of the 8th Congressional District of Illinois.
Kotowski’s district includes Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Mount Prospect, Park Ridge, Rolling Meadows, Roselle and Schaumburg.
Krishnamoorthi, 41, of Schaumburg, has a unique understanding of the challenges facing the U.S. economy and their implications for families and future workers.
In his 2012 primary campaign for Congress against Duckworth, Raja raised in excess of $1.25 million.
Raja currently serves as President of Sivananthan Labs and Episolar, Inc., small businesses that sell products in the national security and renewable energy industries. He is a co-founder of InSPIRE, a non-profit organization that provides training to Illinois students and veterans in solar technology, and was formerly Vice-Chairman of the Illinois Innovation Council, whose mission is to promote innovative technologies that support economic growth and job creation in Illinois.
