Smart Farm of Barrington Announces First Annual Farm to Barn Dinner

Smart Farm of Barrington is proud to announce its irst Annual Farm to Barn dinner on Saturday September 6, 2014 from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm.  The dinner will take place in the Good Shepherd Barn, 450 W. Highway 22, Barrington, IL.  Th event will be a fun and delicious fundraiser to support Smart Farm.

The dinner will be a 5-course family style meal featuring local food prepared by chefs Zak Dolezal, Michael Formichella, Anne Fitzgibbons, and The Gentleman Farmer.  Music will also be part of this wonderful evening.

During the 2013 growing season, Smart Farm raised and donated over 6,700 pounds of fresh produce to area food pantries.  In 2014, Smart Farm established eight beehives and expects a nice harvest of honey this fall.  Smart Farm is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which also serves as an educational resource for sustainable gardening practices and promotes healthy eating and living an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
