Train Collides With Semi-Truck in Downtown Barrington
The collision closed a portion of Route 59 and Route 14 Tuesday morning.

BARRINGTON, IL - Roads are open again in downtown Barrington after a train collided with a semi-truck. The collision occurred when a semi headed south on Route 59 was struck by a Canadian National train at about 8:40 a.m., according to the village of Barrington Facebook page. The crash closed Route 59 in both directions.
In addition, the train blocked Route 14 at the Lake Zurich Road crossing and closed Route 14 in both directions between Main Street (Lake-Cook Road) and Prospect Avenue.
All roadways are now open, according to an update on the the village of Barrington Facebook page.

As a result of the Tuesday morning collision, the semi-truck was pushed off the tracks to the south and struck two vehicles. The truck driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported, according to village officials.
The train did not derail. Canadian National arrived on scene and was able to clear the way to move the train by 10:45 a.m.
