Vanity Share Offers Unique Shopping Experience

New resale shop Vanity Share is now open at 128 E. Main St.

Barrington-area women now can enjoy purchasing the designer labels they love at a discounted price.

Resale shop Vanity Share opened last month at 128 E. Main St. Owner Laura Howard said this isn’t your typically resale store.

“It looks like a high-end boutique,” Howard described. “It does not look like a trunk store, it’s really unique.”

Vanity Share sells popular labels like Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and J. Crew, but instead of paying big bucks, customers typically don’t spend more than $20 per item.

Resale was something Howard knew well before taking her knowledge and experience and forming her own business.

“I found a great little corner, it’s been a lot of fun,” Howard said. “Thankfully, it’s gone over really well, because there’s really no advertising for me. I just have a great location that people are able to see.”

Howard’s shop isn’t the only resale store in town. Double Exposure and Re-De-Find were in business long before Vanity Share opened its doors. But Howard doesn’t see the other shops as competition.

“The girls at Re-De-Find and Double Exposure, we all carry something different, so we refer each other,” Howard said. “It’s turned out to be a great relationship.”

Vanity Share is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. For more information, visit www.vanityshareresale.com.
