Batavia Shooting Suspect Turns Himself In To Aurora Police: Cops

BATAVIA, IL — The suspect of a shooting at a Batavia Steak and Shake turned himself in Friday evening in Aurora, police say. Police launched a search for Terry W. Hunter Thursday and charged him with attempted murder after he allegedly shot another customer in the Steak and Shake drive-thru.

According to Police, Hunter was taken into custody by Aurora Police and sent to Kane County Jail.

Hunter allegedly shot a man following an altercation in the drive-thru of Steak and Shake at 1901 McKee Street Tuesday evening. The victim, who was taken to a local hospital and later released, told police the shooter was driving a red sedan.

Police later found a gun in a nearby parking lot and located the red sedan at Lorilyn Apartment Complex, a short drive from the scene of the alleged shooting.

On Thursday, police began a manhunt for Hunter on attempted murder charges, warning the public that he was considered armed and dangerous.

Hunter is currently being held on $1M bond at Kane County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 2.
