"Murder's Day" is Coming May 22

Looking for a way to prolong a celebration of Mother's Day or perhaps to get a jump start to Father's Day festivities? Consider a family outing for an evening of a fun and interactive murder mystery dinner theatre production. Tickets are now on sale and going FAST for Shakespeare on Clark at the Centre's presentation of Murder's Day by Debbi Dennison and Carl Zeitler.

It would be the typical Mother's Day brunch, but this family is anything but typical. Mom has had to wait for 2 weeks after Mother's Day to celebrate because her five offbeat children can never agree on anything. There's Neil, her favorite, who is most interested in himself, fashion, and being pampered. Anything or anyone else is a distant second. There's Jane, who goes all out to get her mother to notice and praise her. There's Mikey, who is part of the local forest preserve police but desperately wants to join the city force. There's Carrie and Terry, twins who are inseparable and have the tendency to finish each other's sentences. They believe they're identical twins even though they are not. And then Uncle Paul shows up out of the blue. He hasn't been around for decades. What does he have up his sleeve? One of these characters will die, and the rest of them will be suspects. Can you solve the case of Murder's Day?

The production, directed and costumed by Julane Sullivan, is the fifth murder mystery dinner theatre play to be performed at The Range Grill & Tap. Join in the fun and suspense on Sunday May 22 and see if you can determine "whodunit." The event fee includes the play as well as a buffet dinner and dessert. Tickets are $40 per person and must be purchased in advance. Tickets can now be purchased by calling The Range Grill & Tap at 630-761-0145 or by stopping in at the location itself at 35 N. Water St. in Batavia. The previous four productions all sold out well in advance, so it is highly recommended to get tickets early. The night begins with a social hour at 5 PM where characters mingle with the audience with a cash bar open. The show itself begins at 6 PM sharp, so patrons should arrive before that time. This interactive style of show will give audience members a chance to play detective and fill out a form during the night with whom he or she thinks commits the murder. Prizes will be awarded based on responses turned in. Part of the ticket fee will raise funds for Shakespeare on Clark at the Centre's upcoming summer production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
