Beverly Arts Center Presents 1975 Cult Classic 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' Oct. 30

See the show at its ONLY showing on Chicago's South Side. Props and costumes strongly encouraged.

It’s the 40th anniversary of the cult movie that launched the cultural phenomenon of audience participation, with fans dressing as their favorite characters and yelling back at the movie screen with ad libs like, “buy an umbrella you cheap bitch.”

This Friday, Oct. 30, The Beverly Arts Center will present the South Side’s only Halloween showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, at 2407 West 111th Street, Chicago.

The screening starts at 8 p.m. Costumes and props are strongly encouraged. The 1975 cult film classic follows the adventures of a newly engaged couple, Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, whose car breaks down. Seeking a phone at a lonely castle, the two encounter a group of strange and outlandish people attending the annual Transylvanian Convention. Soon they are swept into the world of Dr. Frank ‘n Furter, a self-proclaimed “sweet transvestite” from “Transsexual, Transylvania.”
