Beverly Residents Robbed in Their Homes at Gunpoint: Police
Four robberies and home invasions reported in Beverly, including three on the same day. Cops say suspect may be driving a white van.

CHICAGO, IL -- Chicago police are warning residents of four armed robberies and home invasions -- three of which occurred on the same day -- that happened within the boundaries of the 22nd Police District..
According to police, the suspect entered or attempted to enter homes in the Beverly neighborhood. When the suspect was confronted by the homeowners, he demanded property from them by displaying a handgun.He is said to be driving a white van of unknown make or model.
The times and locations include the following:
- 10200 block of S. Leavitt, Tuesday, September 13 at 3:35 pm
- 9000 block of S. Leavitt, Thursday, September 22, at 9:30 pm
- 10600 block of S. Talman, Thursday, September 22, at 9:45 pm
- 2000 block of W. 108th Pl, Thursday, September 22, at 9:56 pm
Witnesses have described the suspect as an African-American male in his early thirties, about 5-feet-9-inches tall, and weighing 175 pounds. He has short hair and a mustache.

Anyone with information about these incidents, who perhaps had an encounter with the suspect or saw a suspicious van in the area, is asked to call the Area South Bureau of Detectives at (312) 747-8273
The Beverly robberies and home invasions follow on the heels on others that have recently occurred in the area. Evergreen Park police arrested two people for a home invasion that occurred Sept. 21. Charges are pending.

In Oak Lawn, a robber followed residents into their garages and robbed them at gunpoint. In two separate incidents on Sept. 13. Witnesses said the suspect, described as an African-American male, was driving a dark red SUV.
