Cash Mob At Ellie's, Bring Receipts To The Blossom Boys: Bev Biz
Eat at Ellie's Cafe this week and bring your receipt to The Blossom Boys to enter a special drawing.

CHICAGO — Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood business leaders are urging residents to support a few local businesses in particular this week. We've already shared information about the need to support Jimmy Jamm's Sweet Potato Cafe on 95th Street, which was burglarized by thieves who stole the cash register and shattered the front window over the weekend.
But there's another business on the other end of the neighborhood, another local favorite, that could use some help as well. Fans of Ellie's Cafe at 10701 S. Hale Ave. have planned a week-long "cash mob" at the business, hoping to flood them with enough business to help offset recent hardships.
Steve English, owner of The Blossom Boys flower shop on 103rd Street and a friend of the owners at Ellie's, says that the cafe recently had an electrical issue that caused them to lose thousands of dollars worth of food and is still dealing with water main construction that has made the parking situation in the area even more difficult.

Too often, parking is not available on Hale Avenue and patrons need to park a block away or further and walk to Ellie's.
But Ellie's is "restocked and ready to rock," English said in a Facebook post on Monday.

"So let's help them recover from the loss in business and product with a week-long cash mob. Ellie's is open for breakfast and lunch six days a week (closed on Tuesday) and for dinner on Thursday."
The cash mob is to go from Monday, Sept. 30 until Sunday, Oct. 6 so we are already in the midst of it. The eatery is holding a number of daily and weekly specials, which can be found below. A Thursday night dinner for $13.50 will include a pork chop, soup or salad and specialty dessert.
English says anyone who dines at Ellie's this week and brings their receipts to The Blossom Boys, 1810 W. 103rd St. will be entered into a special drawing this week.
