Rock Thrown Through Window Of Jimmy Jamm's Sweet Potato Cafe
Fans of a beloved 95th Street business are trying to help drive up sales after the cash register was stolen during a break-in.

CHICAGO — Residents and business leaders in Beverly have begun an effort to help a local business that's provided a unique product for more than a decade now. The Jimmy Jamm's Sweet Potato Bakery & Cafe at 1844 W. 95th St. was the victim of a weekend break-in in which thieves threw a rock through the window, ransacked the business and stole the cash register.
Chicago police confirmed they were called to a business in the area and that the window had been "shattered by a concrete object" before property from inside was stolen.
The Live 19 community organization that supports businesses in the city's 19th Ward informed the neighborhood of what happened on Facebook and has asked that people consider supporting the business in mass following their recent hardship.

At this time, Jimmy Jamm's is accepting cash only.

In 2017, the Beverly Area Planning Association led an effort to help flood the same local business with sales after they fell victim to a scam in which someone sent $500 to a person who called them pretending to be collecting a bill with ComEd.
