Couple Caught On Video Trying To Enter Cars At 97th And Leavitt
A Beverly man's home surveillance system captured a man trying to enter parked cars while a woman waited nearby.

CHICAGO, IL - Reports of car burglary incidents are on the rise in the city and suburbs this year, and in many cases it's unlocked cars that are targeted. Police in several municipalities have said burglars often attempt to gain entry to a car by simply trying to open the door.
That's what appears to be the case in the most recent incident of attempted car burglary in the Beverly neighborhood.
A resident of the 9700 block of South Leavitt shared the video below with Patch. It's footage from a home surveillance system that shows two people, a woman and man, on the street early Friday morning just before 3:30 a.m.

Apparently working as a team, the woman enters the shot first but does not appear to try and open a car door. The man, however, enters view shortly after and is shown clearly trying to gain entry to two cars parked on the block.
Both were apparently locked, however, and the video does not show the man leaving the area with any personal items.

A clear description of the offenders was not available other than that they are a white man and white woman.
The video does not show what mode of transportation they used in getting to the block.
Watch below and contact police if you recognize the offenders.
