Family Members Chase Off Intruder Who Tried To Rob Teen
Two men approached a 16-year-old girl in West Beverly Saturday evening, one brandishing a gun, who chased her into her residence, CPD says.

CHICAGO — Two men tried to grab a 16-year-old girl Saturday night in West Beverly as she exited her car, 22nd District Chicago Police said. The crime is being investigated as a home invasion.
Around 7 p.m., the teen pulled up in front of her residence in the 2500 block of West 104th Street. As she exited the vehicle, the men approached her. One of the pair was armed with a gun and tried to grab her. The man followed her as ran into her home.
Once inside, he was confronted by several of the teen’s family members, The two men drove away in a dark-colored SUV. No one was hurt.

In a public safety update to 19th Ward residents, Ald. Matt O’Shea said Chicago police have been working the case throughout the weekend. Detectives are currently working with suburban police departments and reviewing video footage from the surrounding area.
“I have been in contact with Superintendent Brown who has assigned additional resources to our area,” O’Shea said.

“This is a very serious crime and a reminder to all of us to be vigilant in reporting anything suspicious to 9-1-1 immediately,” O’Shea said.
