Homes In Beverly Targeted During Daytime Burglaries

Police say witnesses saw two suspects walking in a victim's driveway on July 2.

CHICAGO - Chicago police in the 22nd District are investigating a series of residential burglaries in which homes were targeted during daytime hours while many victims were presumably at work. Two suspects were seen by witnesses in a victim's driveway on July 2, when two of the recent incidents were reported.

The homes reported burglarized that day were in the 9800 block of South Leavitt Street and the other in the 9900 block of South Seeley Avenue. Other similar incidents under investigation are one in the 10300 block of South Bell Avenue on June 11 and one in the 9900 block of South Walden Parkway on June 26.

According to police, in one case the offender entered the unlocked door to a residence and removed property from within. In other cases, the offender kicked in the back door and took property.

The suspects described in the July 2 burglary were seen driving a yellow sports car with out of state license plates. One suspect was described as a black man, 18-23 years old with black hair worn in dreadlocks, 6'2" and weighing about 175 pounds. The other a 30-40 year-old black man with a shaved head, 5'10" and weighing about 200 pounds.
