Irish Film Fest Features 'On Broadway,' 'Sing Street'
The Beverly Arts Center hosts two Irish-themed films March 4 as a prelude to the South Side Irish Parade.

CHICAGO, IL - The South Side Irish Parade Film Fest returns to the Beverly Arts Center on Saturday, March 4 as a prelude to the South Side Irish Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The film fest will offer both an afternoon matinee showing of “On Broadway” and an evening feature presentation of “Sing Street”.
“On Broadway” tells the story of Boston carpenter, Jack O’Toole (Joey McIntyre) who writes a play inspired by his uncle’s wake. The film also features appearances by Will Arnett and Amy Poehler. The film highlights the importance of family and friends. The matinee begins at 3 p.m. and the audience is invited to a sing-a-along with the Clancy Brothers during a short film presentation.
The evening session begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception and live traditional Irish music followed by the feature presentation of “Sing Street.” The Golden Globe nominated film is a coming of age tale set in 1985 in Dublin. Live Irish-American music, raffles and a cash bar will continue into the evening post-film showing.
