Juvenile Charged in Pellet Gun Shooting of Officer: Cops

A 16-year-old boy and three other males were identified as group that discharged a pellet gun striking Chicago officer, police said.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged in the pellet gun shooting of a Chicago police officer on Friday evening, police said.

The juvenile was arrested along with three other males after they were identified as the individuals who discharged a pellet gun in the direction of the two officers in the 0-100 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Police News Affairs.

One of the officers was struck and taken to Stroger Hospital with a non life-threatening injury. The 16-year-old boy is being charged as a juvenile with one felony count of aggravated battery in a public place, and one misdemeanor count of aggravated assault and use of a deadly weapon.

The other males were released without being charged.
