Bullet strikes CTA bus in early morning street robbery attempt, cops say.

A man is recovering from a graze wound after he was shot early Tuesday morning while waiting for a CTA bus in Morgan Park.

Police said that a 62-year-old man was waiting at the bus stop near 111th and Halsted Streets around 5 a.m. when two men tried to rob him.

The 62-year-old man resisted the robbery attempt and ran away. As he ran, the other men shot him grazing the man’s shoulder.

No injuries were reported on the bus but police took the bus driver to the hospital as a precaution, the paper said.

The man is in good condition and is recovering at Roseland Hospital.

“He’s going to be fine,” McNicholas told Patch.

Dist. 22 police continue to investigate the robbery attempt and shooting. The victim was unable to provide a physical description of the suspects.

“We’re trying to get video from the [police blue light] cameras, but someone has to climb the pole,” McNicholas said.
