Three runners from Beverly and two from Mount Greenwood will be in one of the world's most famous races on Monday.

BOSTON, MA — The 122nd running of the Boston Marathon takes place Monday, April 16. In Boston, Patriots Day has grown to take on a larger meaning as one of the great days of sport and human triumph. Runners from across the globe flock to be tested by the 26.2-mile course from the Hopkinton start line to the famous Boylston Street finish line.

One of the local runners, Julian Davis of Beverly, is a Saint Xavier University cross country athlete who is raising money for the Les Turner ALS Foundation in honor of his father, who suffers from the disease. READ MORE: Beverly Man Will Run Boston Marathon For Dad With ALS
