O'Shea Thinks Teen Vandals Responsible for Racist Graffiti in Beverly

Chicago police ask homeowners to check home security video systems.

CHICAGO, IL -- Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) thinks teenage vandals are responsible for racist graffiti found scrawled on garages Wednesday evening in Beverly.

“Over the past 24 hours, several garages and one local church were vandalized with hateful, racially charged graffiti between the 10300 and 10500 blocks of S. Claremont Ave. Displays of racism and intolerance like this have no place in our community,” O’Shea said in an email blast to constituents.

Swastikas and the letters “KKK,” including the Ku Klux Klan’s blood-dripping cross symbol and threatening phrases were found on garages and a church shed.
