Rabid Bat Found At 107th And Campbell
This is the second rabid bat found in the Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood in as many months.

CHICAGO, IL - A bat found Tuesday in the 10700 block of South Campbell Avenue in West Beverly was determined to be rabid, 19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea said in an email to ward residents on Thursday. It is the second rabid bat found in the neighborhood in as many months.
In August, O'Shea told residents of a bat found in the 9900 block of South Leavitt Street that had also tested positive for rabies. Before this, the most recent rabid bat found in Beverly/Morgan Park came in August of 2017.
"All residents should keep their pets on a leash when outside of their homes," O'Shea said.

The Illinois State Public Health Laboratory was the agency that determined both the bat found in August and the one on Tuesday to be rabid.
