Suspect Tried To Kidnap Teen, Chicago Police Say

According to the Chicago Police Department, the suspect attempted to pick up a 17-year-old female student and drive away with her.

CHICAGO – Chicago police are reminding people to be aware of their surroundings when out in public. The warning comes after a recent kidnapping attempt in Morgan Park.

According to police, on Nov. 18, at approximately 8:14 a.m., a man drove up to the CTA bus stop located at 11100 S. Wallace. He then rolled down his window and demanded that a 17-year-old female student get into his car. Officers said the suspect attempted to pick her up and drive away without the consent of the teen’s parents. Fortunately, he did not succeed.

The suspect is described as a black man with a medium complexion who appears to be in his 30’s or 40’s. Police said he has short, black hair and was last seen wearing a button-down shirt. The suspect was also last seen driving a black vehicle, possibly a Lincoln MDX, with chrome on it.
