Suspected Murderer Arrested In Beverly
Jamel Nelson is reported to have fought with courtroom officials after previously having been released from custody on a $2,000 bond.

CHICAGO - Police have confirmed that a man charged with first degree murder and who was reportedly out on a $2,000 bond was arrested earlier this month in the Beverly neighborhood. Jamel Nelson, 22, was charged with one count of murder - first degree, one count of aggravated battery/discharge firearm, one count of attempted murder - first degree and two warrants.
Nelson was arrested in the 10500 block of South Walden Parkway on Oct. 9, according to a report from The Beverly Review. He's accused in a September shooting that left one man dead and another injured in the city's Washington Park neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Nelson was taken into custody the night of the alleged murder on Sept. 7, but then accused of causing two deputies to be injured during an outburst while in lockup. The report states that he was released by posting a $2,000 bond.

Between the bond release and his arrest in Beverly, Nelson was accused of missing a court date.
In another outburst in court after he was arrested, the Sun-Times reported that it took six deputies to restrain him.
