Unlocked Cars With Keys Left Inside Stolen In Beverly
Two cars parked in the neighborhood this month were stolen after the keys were left inside and the doors left unlocked.
CHICAGO — Two cars parked in Beverly this month were stolen when thieves found the keys inside and the doors unlocked. Police in Chicago's 22nd District alerted residents to a trend in the neighborhood in which unlocked cars have been targeted in both theft from vehicle and motor vehicle theft incidents.
The thieves strike between midnight and 6 a.m. in all cases. They walk the neighborhood during early morning hours and pull on car door handles, according to police. When they find one that's unlocked, they steal stuff from inside.
In two cases this month the keys were left inside the unlocked cars and that allowed the thieves to steal them.
