2 Taken To Hospital After Vehicle Strikes Building In Bolingbrook
2 people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and three people were treated and released on scene, officials said.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Two people were taken to local hospitals after a vehicle struck a building in the 700 block of South Weber road on Thursday, Bolingbrook Fire Department said.
The first crews arrived at the scene 5 minutes after the call was received at 1:28 p.m., and found a vehicle inside a commercial building, according to the department.
No occupants were trapped inside or underneath the vehicle, the department said. Crews began immediately assessing the structure for stability, and citizens for injuries.

A member of the Bolingbrook building department also responded to the scene, and ruled out serious compromise to the structure, according to the department.

Battalion Chief Chris Brophy said all members of the department perform annual training in vehicle extrication techniques. Several members also hold higher levels of technical rescue and extrication certifications.
It was this training that allowed the firefighters to safely and rapidly perform this rescue, he said.
