Bolingbrook Regal Cinema Location Closing

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Regal Cinemas is closing, several months after the business' parent company, Cineworld, filed for bankruptcy.

The Bolingbrook location, 1221 W. Boughton Road, was one of 39 movie theaters that were announced in the latest round of closures. It was one of two theaters in Illinois that will close.

The Regal Cinema in Round Lake Beach is also among the announced closings.

Bolingbrook's IPIC theater also closed at the start of 2022, although that movie theater was quickly replaced by Star Cinema Grill. The location in The Promenade Bolingbrook is a dine-in theater concept, and Star Cinema Grill signed a 15-year lease for the space.
