MOD Pizza, Chipotle Building Near Bolingbrook Meijer

BOLINGBROOK, IL - If you've visited the Meijer grocery store near The Bolingbrook Promenade lately, you've noticed a portable fence in the parking lot, heavy construction equipment and a new building underway. Although the grand opening is probably several weeks away, it's only a matter of time before area shoppers will have not just one, but two more restaurant options in Bolingbrook. This new building will serve as a Chipotle Mexican Grill as well as a MOD Pizza restaurant.

Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar talked about this project when he gave his annual state of the village address in January at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. This development was approved by the Bolingbrook Village Board last April.

According to its website, MOD Pizza started in 2008 in Seattle by Scott and Ally Svenson. "Inspired by their own search for quick, affordable, wholesome restaurant options for their growing family, they started to wonder if there were a better way of doing pizza - and business," the MOD Pizza website proclaims. "The last thing the world needed was another pizza place, but maybe this one could be different."

MOD Pizza has numerous locations in the Chicago area. It's currently in Bloomingdale, Chicago's Roscoe Village, Deerfield Mall, Evergreen Park, Glenview, Gurnee, Kildeer, Naperville, Orland Park, Skokie, Vernon Hills, Waukegan and Willowbrook.

The MOD website, however, might need to be updated.

As of Friday, it did not list Bolingbrook as one of its "Coming Soon" locations even though construction is now well underway.
