Mayor Recovering At Home After Open Heart Surgery
Mayor's family requests privacy, says surgery went "very well."

Mayor Roger Claar is recovering at home after undergoing heart bypass surgery last week at a local hospital.
The mayor returned home on Tuesday after entering the hospital for a planned surgery to correct an “issue” with his heart.

Claar’s family is requesting that people respect their privacy while the mayor recuperates.
“He is open heart surgery to correct an issue that we’ve known about for awhile. The surgery went very well,” the mayor’s family said in a written statement.

Claar is Bolingbrook’s longest serving mayor since 1987 and is now in his seventh term. The mayor will be out on medical leave for an unspecified amount of time.
