Murder Trial Begins For 2017 Bolingbrook Stabbing
Harold Robinson, 57, is facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection to the 2017 stabbing.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A bench trial began Monday for a Bolingbrook man charged with two counts of murder in connection to a 2017 stabbing.
Harold Robinson, 57, stabbed 23-year-old Corey Spradley after a verbal domestic situation escalated into a physical confrontation, police told Patch in 2017.
Spradley later died of his injuries, and Robinson has remained in custody since 2017.

Numerous pretrial hearings and status hearings have been held over the past six years, according to Will County court documents. Fitness status hearings were also held in 2021, 2022 and 2023, before the bench trial began on Monday.
According to court documents, Robinson is facing two counts of first-degree murder for cutting Spradley with a sharp object, "without lawful justification and with the intent to kill or do great bodily harm" and knowing that the act "created a strong probability of death or great bodily harm" to Spradley.

Bail has been set at $2 million since 2017.
