• Bolingbrook Announces 2026 Grand Marshal, Citizens Of The Year And Family Of The Year (patch.com) — Bolingbrook is celebrating several standout neighbors as its 2026 Grand Marshal, Citizens of the Year and Family of the Year, all of whom will be featured in the upcoming Pathways Parade and Jubilee Festival. From long-time volunteers and community leaders to the family behind the Bolingbrook Community Closet, these honorees highlight local service, youth mentorship and support for thousands of residents in need.
   

• Bolingbrook Pet Store Closing Later This Month (patch.com) — Bolingbrook pet owners have just a short time left to visit Petland Bolingbrook and Aquarium Adventure before the store closes on Sept. 20. The shop cites legislative changes and a shifting retail landscape, but will continue serving local customers through its Hoffman Estates location and by selling select fixtures during the wind-down.
   

• Forest Preserve Begins Annual Woods Walk Challenge (patch.com) — Bolingbrook residents can join Will County's free Woods Walk challenge now through Nov. 30, with Hidden Oaks Preserve in Bolingbrook among the featured trails. Complete seven of ten designated hikes to earn a collectible medallion, and pick up or submit paper travel logs at Hidden Oaks Nature Center right in town.
