Spring Programs On Tap At Bolingbrook Park District

Free events for families include a flashlight egg hunt and a search for frogs and toads during the Evening Frog Walk.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Park District has released its spring program guide, which includes four free family events this spring. The events are brought to residents courtesy of Meijer, and the first event, Animal Valentines, will be held Feb. 11.

The Valentine-themed event is from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex, and all ages are welcome, according to the park district.

Materials will be supplied to create animal-themed Valentine's Day cards.

In March, kids can learn about the relationship between predator and prey animals at Food Chain Games on March 11. The all-ages event will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at James S. Boan Woods, 410 Schmidt Road.

April will bring the park district's flashlight egg hunt on April 5, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at James S. Boan Woods. Kids will be split into different age groups with designated times to search for treat-filled eggs in the dark, according to the park district.

Last up is an Evening Frog Walk on May 20. The event will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex.

Families can search for toads, frogs and tadpoles, and also make a craft and learn about amphibians, according to the park district.
