New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson will read from his newest book, Steelheart, Saturday, October 5, 2 p.m., at the Indian Trails Library District, 355 Schoenbeck, Wheeling.
Steelheart represents the debut of a new series, one that Publisher’s Weekly called “an absolute page-turner.” In Steelheart, 10 years have passed since Calamity, an explosion in the sky that gave select people extraordinary powers. Known as Epics, these new super-humans began a war that fractured the world. An Epic named Steelheart took over what was once Chicago and, in a fit of rage, turned the entire city into steel. Impervious to bullets and unaffected by fire, Steelheart wields his power over the city like an iron fist and nobody fights back . . . nobody but the Recokoners.
