'Meaningful' Protest Ends Without Incident
Update: The protest in Buffalo Grove was organized by Chicago Burbs For Justice to "stand in solidarity" against police brutality.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A Black Lives Matter protest happened Thursday in Buffalo Grove, led by the organizing group, Chicago Burbs For Justice.
The Memorial Tribute to George Floyd concluded around 6:45 p.m., according to the Village of Buffalo Grove. Police Chief Steven Casstevens, who was present, thanked the organizers, attendees, and officers for a "meaningful and peaceful event."
Protesters met at Spray 'N' Play, 951 McHenry Road. Organizers, in a social media post, had stressed this is not a riot and encouraged all to wear masks to "stand in solidarity against police brutality."

"We'll have a moment of silence to kneel for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to respect and remember George Floyd," Chicago Burbs For Justice stated in a Facebook post, prior to the march. "Afterward, we'll have speakers share their own personal experiences and call for change. Show your support by coming to the field behind the Buffalo Grove Fitness Center at 4:30 pm this Thursday. Bring masks, water, and black clothes."
The Buffalo Grove Police Department told Patch prior to the event it was aware of the protest and was working with organizers.

According to a Facebook post Wednesday night, Chicago Burbs For Justice stated it is a group of Stevenson High School graduates and college students "looking to advocate for change in our country."
