Buffalo Grove Artists Compete with Northshore Schools in Fundraiser for "Saving tiny Hearts"
Art students from Buffalo Grove High School currently have their work displayed at Northbrook Court mall as part of a fundraiser for Saving tiny Hearts Society, a Deerfield-based, nonprofit organization.
Until Friday, May 2, community members can pay to vote for artwork, and the proceeds will benefit children struggling with congenital heart defects.
The following Buffalo Grove High School students are exhibitors: freshman Emily Sidlow (drawing), sophomore Miranda Greene (drawing), junior Juwon Jung (tempera), senior Manny Aguirre (drawing), senior Amber Malzahn (collage), freshman Jordan Hasek (mixed media), senior Kylie North (oil), sophomore Edyta Czaplinski (painting), sophomore Maria Mosiychuk (digital photography), senior Sam Dykes (digital photography), senior Jess Morris (photography), and senior Conrad Weres (photography).

Buffalo Grove is competing against the following North Shore area high schools: Stevenson, Lake Forest, Glenbrook North, Highland Park, Deerfield, and New Trier. The "heART Show" is on display in the lower level of the mall next to Nieman Marcus.
To support the cause, donors can vote for BGHS student artwork at the mall or by credit card online at <www.savingtinyhearts.org/heartists> for a cost of $1 per vote. The website also provides more information about the charity. The school that receives the most votes will have an additional $1,500 donation from Northbrook Court presented to Saving tiny Hearts in its name.

Following the voting period, students will have the option of donating their pieces to be sold in the silent auction held at the annual Saving tiny Hearts Charity Gala on May 31.
