Buffalo Grove Police Remind Motorists To Buckle Up For Thanksgiving
The police department will again participate in the "Click It Or Ticket" campaign starting Friday.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Stepped-up police patrols and seat belt enforcement will be seen throughout Buffalo Grove and the state, starting Friday, through Nov. 28. In partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police, BGPD reminds motorists to "Click It or Ticket."
Drivers and passengers can expect a ticket from BGPD if they are spotted without a seat belt. The goal of this high-visibility effort, according to a news release, is to reduce motor vehicle crashes and the resulting injuries and fatalities. Police said correct seatbelt use is the most effective way to protect vehicle occupants.
The statewide seatbelt usage rate is at 93 percent, according to IDOT.
