BUFFALO GROVE, IL — An autopsy conducted Tuesday has revealed the cause of death for a 39-year-old Buffalo Grove man, who died during a house fire in the 600 block of Woodhollow Lane. The Lake County Coroner's Office has not revealed the name of the deceased, but said the victim's death "is consistent with thermal injuries and inhalation of products of combustion."
According to the Village of Buffalo Grove, firefighters arrived at the working fire in a garage attached to the two-story house five minutes after a call was made at 10:22 a.m. Monday. Officials said heavy flames in the garage were spreading to the house, and there were reports of one person unaccounted for.
Firefighters began an "aggressive" interior attack of the fire with hose lines to both the garage and house, while continuing to search for any trapped occupants. During the search, they found the deceased.
