Driver Nabbed With Illegal Gun, Drugs: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

ARRESTS

AGGRAVATED ROBBERY

Marco A. Vazquez, 28, of the 1300 block of E. Port O Call Drive, Palatine, is accused of felony aggravated armed robbery, felony robbery, and was arrested. The robbery occurred on Dec. 21, 2024, at Extended Stay America, 1525 E. Busch Parkway. A court date of July 3 was assigned.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE

• Vanesa Castaneda Calderon, 20, of the 1700 block of N. Rose, Palatine, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, and was arrested at midnight on June 6, in the 30 block of Timber Hill. A court date of June 20 was assigned.
• Jamie T. Vallone, 34, of the 800 block of Shady Grove Lane, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:10 a.m. June 9, at Deerfield Parkway and Barclay Boulevard. A court date of July 18 was assigned.

ENTER PLACE WHERE FIREARMS ARE PROHIBITED

Sergio A. Medina, 21, of the 2000 block of E. Waverly Lane, Buffalo Grove, is accused of a concealed carry act violation for entering a prohibited place where firearms are prohibited (car), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, and was arrested at 11:50 p.m. June 6, in the 1100 block of W. Dundee Road. A court date of July 2 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

A female entered Walgreens, 15 N. Buffalo Grove Road, at 6:20 p.m. June 7, and stole multiple cosmetic items, valued at $294.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Two windows on a car were found damaged at 10:55 a.m. Jun 9, with what appeared to be from a pellet BB gun in the 800 block of Miller Lane.
