Handmade Creations for Sale at the Arts and Crafts Fair

A staple at Buffalo Grove Days is the Arts & Crafts Fair.  In existence for 30 years, the fair features many of the area’s best crafters.  This year, we are happy to welcome back several vendors from previous years.  We are also ready to show off some new artists.  The variety of the exhibition continues to amaze me every year.

Products include handmade jewelry, candles, clothing, clocks, baby blankets, and lawn decorations. Have you ever imagined what you can do with duct tape?  Then make sure to visit Alexis Radlein’s booth and let her show you her products.  Make sure to stop at the Kids Zone, where Vicki Schimanski and sister, Pat Karpes, will keep you warm and in stiches with their hand-sewn blankets.

Returning every year for over 15 years is Yer Vang with his Hmong tapestries and needleworks.  Also for girls of any age, stop by and visit Edie Mahoney who hand makes hair scrunchies.  In the next tent, look for Carol Petrasek who makes doll clothing for 15-18” dolls. Moving down the street, you’ll come across Jean Ellwein, who sells hand-painted, southwestern-style paintings.  Jean also sells a hot product called the ice collar. It promises to cool you down, even on the hottest day.  Members of the Buffalo Grove Days Committee personally stand by it.

Make sure you take the time to stroll by the Arts & Crafts Fair along Raupp Blvd in front of the Village Hall on Saturday or Sunday (11am – 6 pm) and Monday (11 am – 4 pm).

Before I forget, I want to remind everyone that it is not too late to sign up as a griller or a judge for the Barbeque Challenge.  Look for detail on our website.
