Pritzker's executive order regarding the closure of restaurants/indoor dining. Upon arrival, police observed around 30 vehicles in the parking lot and between 20-30 people standing outside the main entrance. There was no social distancing and no one was wearing a mask, according to police. It was noted in the police report that there was a continuous stream of people going in and out of the restaurant, which also appeared to be serving food and alcohol. Police spoke with the manager and reminded them of the current order in place. They said they would shut the party down for the night and were directed to speak with the Village if they have any further questions.
- Police were called at 12:21 p.m. Nov. 11 to the Continental Restaurant, 788 S Buffalo Grove Road, following an anonymous complaint that there were indoor patrons at the restaurant. Police noted 15 patrons seated along the three opposite walls of the restaurant, not wearing masks as they were eating. All employees visible to police were wearing masks. Police informed the manager that the restaurant was in violation of the governor's executive order regarding the closure of restaurants/indoor dining. The manager said they would inform the owner.
- An employee of a business in the 0-100 block of W Dundee Road called police at 6:23 p.m. Nov. 8 to report a theft of beer. The person who stole the beer was reported to still be in the lot, drinking what they had just walked out of the store with. Upon arrival, police noted that the person was visibly intoxicated and acting belligerent in the parking lot. Police had just spoken with the person regarding an unrelated domestic dispute. The person had arrived at the store in a taxi, walked into the store and removed two 24-ounce cans of Steel Reserve (value of $4) from the fridge. The employee told police they didn't wish to sign any complaints regarding the theft, but just wanted the person cited for trespassing. Police told the person they could not return to the business.
