Restaurants Disobey Indoor Dining COVID-19 Restrictions: Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

SPEEDING OVER STATUTORY LIMIT

Alejandro Wuardo, 33, of the 700 block of Mallard Lane, Wheeling, is accused of speeding over the statutory limit, being an unlicensed driver, and was arrested at 5:45 a.m. Nov. 6 at Arlington Heights and Plum Grove roads. His bond was set at $2,500, and he was assigned a court date of Dec. 18.

Amndeep Singh Thiara, 36, of the 600 block of Trace Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol/no driver's license, driving under the influence/great bodily harm, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended/revoked license, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal possession/transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 2:55 a.m. Nov. 1 in the 0-100 block of F Fox Drive. His bond hearing was set at $10,000, and he was assigned a court date of Nov. 9.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

  • Jacqueline Ramos, 45, of the 3000 block of Bayside Drive, Palatine, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration over .08, illegal lane usage, and was arrested at 11:01 p.m Oct. 30 at Buffalo Grove Road near Bernard Drive. Bond was set at $1,000, and was assigned a court date of Nov. 18.
  • Andres Mena Beltran, 47, of the 33200 block of N Valleyview Drive, Grayslake, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal lane usage, failure to signal when required, illegal transportation of liquor, and was arrested at 6:37 p.m. Oct. 30 at Route 22 at Millbrook. His bond was set at $3,000, and he was assigned a court date of Nov. 18.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

  • Michaud Raclatan Milfort, 51, of the 0-100 block of B.E. Dundee, Palatine, is accused of driving with a suspended/revoked license, speeding over the statutory limit, possession/sales of drug paraphernalia, and was arrested at 2:59 p.m. Oct. 31 at Dundee Road and Lake Boulevard. His bond was set at $2,500, and he was assigned a court date of Nov. 20.
  • Marquis L. Gentry, 27, of the 400 block of E Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, speeding over the statutory limit, and was arrested at 1:09 a.m. Oct. 30 at Dundee and Vernon roads. His bond was set at $2,500, and he was assigned a court date of Nov. 20 in Mundelein.

FRAUD

The Buffalo Grove Police Department announced there were 31 Illinois Department of Employment Security fraud reports last week.

PUBLIC COMPLAINT

  • Police responded to Traktir the 12 Chairs, 1224 W Dundee Road at 4:58 p.m. Nov. 6 after a caller said customers were eating inside the restaurant, a violation of the governor's coronavirus restrictions. When police arrived, there were no customers, but three employees were not wearing masks. Police told the owner that the employees were violating the governor's COVID-19 restrictions. Later, the caller called police again to report the owner was being uncooperative. This time, the staff was wearing masks, but 12 people were eating inside the restaurant. The owner was told of this violation.
  • Police were called to Deerfields Bakery, 201 N Buffalo Grove Road, at 10:59 p.m. Nov. 1 following a call that people were eating inside the establishment. Police found 10-12 people eating inside. An employee told police that the customer threatened not to return to Deerfields if their group could not eat inside. The employee said they were aware of the COVID-19 related restrictions, but management had given the order to retain customers.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE/TRESPASS TO PROPERTY

A resident in the 0-100 block of Villa Verde Drive reported at 4:51 p.m. Nov. 1 that they called 911 after returning home and seeing damage to a sliding glass door connected to his living room. When the resident walked outside to survey the damage, they found a tampon laying on the ground with profanities written on it. A neighbor told police they had heard noises and saw a person leaving the scene in a car earlier.
