Man Displays Box Cutter After Car Crash: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter
The blade was exposed in his left hand during an argument with a driver involved in the crash, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Jose David Ventura Cervantes, 24, of the 600 block of S. Fulton Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 4, at N. Arlington Heights Road and Checker Drive. He was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 20.

Police responded to the intersection of Lake Cook and McHenry roads at 3:50 p.m. Dec. 6, regarding a hit-and-run crash. They met with Juwan R. Love, 29, of the 0-10 block of Renaissance Drive, Palatine, who said a red Dodge Charger had sideswiped his silver Infiniti QX70. That car was driven by Monica M. Bonds, 39, of the 400 block of Carman Avenue, Buffalo Grove. Love said Bonds had gotten out of her and started arguing with him. A passenger of the car, later identified as Matthew C. Bonadona, 41, of the 6200 block of Pond View Drive, Matteson, also exited the vehicle and began arguing with Love. He reportedly displayed a box cutter with the blade exposed in his left hand.
- Love was eventually charged with driving with a suspended license, and arrested. He was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 2o.
- Later that evening, Bonds arrived at the BGPD, and was arrested for leaving the scene of a vehicle damage accident. She was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7, 2025.
- Bonadona called police and agreed to meet with them the next day. He is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct, and was arrested. Bonadona was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7, 2025.

INCIDENTS
BURGLARY
Police responded to Everything Games, 404 W. Half Day Road, at 4:28 a.m. Dec. 5, for a burglary report. They found a window to the west of the front entrance door shattered, and two cash registers had been taken.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A resident in the 1100 block of Johnson Drive called police at 1 p.m. Dec. 5, to report a suspicious incident. A package had been set on fire in the hallway of the apartment building, and had since been extinguished
