Buffalo Grove’s Environmental Action Team will be hosting its annual Green Fair from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 at Mike Rylko Community Park, 1000 N. Buffalo Grove Rd.
The free, family-friendly, educational event will offer composting and water conservation demonstrations, rain gardens, prairie restoration, and recycling. The MWRD will give one rain barrel to a visitor who completes a water conservation pledge. Rain barrels can be purchased on the MWRD website for $58 plus tax. Informative brochures and purchasing information will be available at the fair.
Visitors are encouraged to bring the following items for collecting, reusing or recycling:
• Bicycles and parts
• Athletic shoes
• Crayons- used or new
• Eye glasses and hearing aids
• Keys
• CFL bulbs
• Household batteries
• Small electronics - cell phones, (laptops, gaming systems, inkjet cartridges, MP3 players, cameras, GPS devices, radar detectors)
• Gently used books
• Gently used clothing
• Yoga mats
