Naked Father-Daughter Swim; Stray Cat Home: Blotter
Residents of an apartment complex reported illegal swimming; a number of stray cats were found at a home: Buffalo Grove Blotter.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

- Juan Carlos Gonzalez, 20, of the 2300 block of Nichols Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended/revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, speeding over the statutory limit, and was arrested at 12:18 p.m. July 8 at Dundee Road and Golfview Terrace. He was given a $3,000 bond and a court date of July 30 in Rolling Meadows.
- Carlos Arriaga Nepomuceno, 44, of the 8800 block of S Exchange Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal lane usage, and was arrested at 9:43 p.m. July 4 on West Dundee Road. He was given a bond of $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 12 in Waukegan.
DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE
- Patrick Levine Johnson, 31, of the 5600 block of W Ohio Street, Chicago, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, registration expiration, operating an uninsured vehicle, unlawful use of headlights/auxiliary lamps, and was arrested at 11:54 p.m. July 7 at Dundee and Arlington Heights roads. He was given a $2,500 bond and a court date of Aug. 6 in Rolling Meadows.
- Ivan Roldan, 18, of the 2700 block of Lauretta Place, Highland Park, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, illegal lane usage, illegal possession of liquor, transportation of liquor by a driver, consumption of alcohol by a minor, and was arrested at 11:29 p.m. July 4 at Buffalo Grove and Bernard roads. He was given a $2,500 bond.

INTOXICATED PERSON

A resident of an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Johnson Drive reported at 5:29 p.m. July 9 an intoxicated couple had broken into the closed pool and were swimming in the nude. Upon arrival, police were told the couple had left after being told to leave by employees. The resident told police the man walked back to his apartment bottomless. The resident said they had been receiving phone calls from the intoxicated woman, who was shouting profanities at them. Police spoke to the couple and told them they need to be clothed while in the common area. The man apologized to police and said the female was his daughter.
NEIGHBORHOOD TROUBLE
A resident of the 1500 block of Anderson Lane called police at 3:50 p.m. July 9 to report issues with some behaviors of new neighbors. The resident said the neighbors had been seen on a front door camera looking at the resident's package on the porch, there had been littering going on and that someone had urinated in the tree line, facing the woods, behind their house. The resident was unsure how many people lived in the neighbor's house. The neighbor told police the resident was "crazy." They did admit that a friend had urinated in the woods.
SAFETY OR HEALTH HAZARD
A resident in the 2800 block of Whispering Oaks Drive reported at 10:10 a.m. July 8 a garbage can in front of a neighbor's home has been overflowing with garbage, at times with garbage all around the can on the ground, since the summer began. The resident believes the actions of the neighbor are carried out with a "malicious intent toward the people around his house to purposely make our neighborhood look ugly."
CUSTOMER/MANAGER DISPUTE
- An employee at Northwest Community Hospital called police at 12:18 p.m. July 7 to report a patient yelled at them. The patient had come to the hospital for a medical test to qualify for a Department of Transportation certification. The patient became upset when informed they had failed the test.
- A manager at Discovery Clothing Store, 1309 Dundee Road, reported at 9:37 p.m. July 3 that a customer entered the store with a dog, and when told that dogs are not allowed, the customer became irate and refused to leave the store. When investigating, police said there were no signs prohibiting service or comfort animals in the store posted anywhere on the property. The manager said the customer did not specify the dog was for service or comfort, and they thought the dog was going to strike them during the confrontation. Police provided the customer a phone number to the corporate office and asked them to leave the store.
RETAIL THEFT
- An employee of Garden Fresh, 770 Buffalo Grove Road, called police at 4:44 p.m. July 2 to report two shoplifters were currently detained and being cooperative. The woman was spotted leaving the store with several food items in her purse. The man she was with had already purchased some items and walking out the door with her. The employee was able to translate into English what the Russian-speaking couple was saying. The man said the woman, identified as his wife, took the items because he didn't think he had enough money on his state-issued LINK card. The stolen items totaled $26.40. The employee allowed the couple to buy the items and warned them never return to the store again or face arrest.
- An employee of Walgreens, 1225 W Dundee Road, reported at 12:10 p.m. July 7 a man entered the store, placed three bottles of wine into a blue, medium-sized shoulder bag, and left the store without paying for them. The employee recognized the man as a regular customer.
ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
An Acacia Terrace resident called police at 2:02 p.m. July 4 to report a golf ball hit a glass patio door and shattered it. The resident spoke with the golfer, who provided their phone number and stated they would pay for it.
THEFT $500 AND UNDER
A customer at Aldi's, 1202 W Dundee Road, reported at 9:03 p.m. July 5 their wallet and cellphone were stolen while they inadvertently left them at the register while checking out. The customer said they informed the manager and the items had not been recovered. The customer was able to cancel credit cards in the wallet and have her phone company lock the phone.
BURGLARY
- A resident in the 0-100 block of Columbus Parkway called police at 8:05 a.m. July 9 to report when they came outside the driver's door of their Mercedes was open. Items from the glove compartment were spread around the front passenger seat. Nothing was missing. Upon checking out their other vehicle, the resident stated $50 was missing from the compartment above the radio. The resident told police they had forgotten to lock the cars after moving them the prior night.
- A resident in the 300 block of Bernard Drive reported at 8:48 a.m. July 8 that both fog light plastic coverings had been taken from their vehicle during the overnight hours. The estimated value is $30.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Sussex Court resident reported at 3:15 p.m. July 8 that they had received a notice from the Illinois Department of Employment Services in early June informing them of being approved for unemployment benefits. The resident said that they've tried to reach IDES by phone dozens of times, and sent a letter, to inform them that this is an error with no luck. The resident said they received a second letter on July 8 stating the benefits are now being directed to an account that the resident doesn't own.
ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS
Police received an email complaint at 11:57 a.m. July 6 regarding excessive animals at a property in the 600 block of St Mary's Parkway. Upon arrival at the residence, police noticed three stray cats in the backyard. They also noticed the smell of urine and feces in the yard. While waiting for the resident to answer the door, police noticed three cats inside the home as well. No one answered the door. Police reached the resident by phone, who stated they had eight stray cats on the property and a relative owns four cats that live inside. The resident was informed they would need to get rid of the stray cats or be part of a trap and release program.
VANDALISM
Police were dispatched to the area of Camelot Corner Park, 815 Kingsbridge Way, for a report of vandalism at 7:52 p.m. July 7. Police found several spray-painted graffiti messages on the walking path around the park, including some profanity-filled, "ACAB," "George Floyd," "No justice, no peace."
UNWANTED PERSON
A manager at Walgreens, 1225 W Dundee Road, reported at 2:08 p.m. July 8 that a customer who had stolen alcohol from the store on July 7 was attempting to purchase alcohol again. The manager did not want to sign complaints and requested police issue a trespass warning for the customer.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
The owner of Dog Barber 2, 157 W Dundee Road, called police at 10:11 a.m. July 7 to report someone had sprayed black sealant along the seam of the business' main door and into the door's lock. The door and key were still functional despite the damage.
THEFT OVER $500
A resident in the 200 block of Old Oak Drive reported at 7:48 p.m. July 4 that someone stole two bicycles from the front lobby storage area. The resident said the last time they saw the bicycles was on June 20. The first bike is a blue, 29-inch Cannondale Adventure 2W mountain bike, worth $631.37. The second bike is a metal grey/blue Cannondale Trail 5 29er mountain bike, worth $809.58.
